Methodology
What the model can and cannot tell us.
The visualisation is a communication model for comparing network concepts. It is not a detailed design, demand forecast or investment case.
Shared 3D context
Both scenarios use the same tiled terrain, aerial context, buildings, water level and NZTM origin. Each scenario changes only its alignment, visible proposal assets, story and illustrative movement.
Traffic movement
Vehicle animations are deterministic and qualitative. They show connections, merges and relative concentration. They are not calibrated traffic outputs and are never used as the source of a public numerical claim.
Published evidence
A number appears in the public experience only after an administrator records its source, publication date, location in the source and methodology, then marks it approved.
Geospatial limitations
The horizontal coordinate system is NZGD2000 / New Zealand Transverse Mercator 2000 (EPSG:2193). The current terrain is derived from Mapbox Terrain-RGB and does not assert an NZVD2016 vertical datum.
What comes next
A genuine feasibility study would need demand modelling, operational design, wind and evacuation studies, consenting analysis, integration planning, whole-of-life cost estimates and independent peer review.
